  • I loathe the Desert. When one thinks of Phoenix they tend to put this place on one of the artistically and culturally dry places on Earth. However, I was shocked when I went to the Phoenix Art Museam to see their wide variety and well placed artifacts. I love the Asian section so many interesting things. Even the Modern Art section is very classy and actually beautiful. You will find many recognizable pieces and famous American Artistry. Yes the Curators there are Nazi's don't even attempt to take a photo or get too close--They will admonish you. Can't wait to see the new renovations. 9/28/07 Went Last Tuesday, Tuesdays are Free!! Saw the new wing and renovations to the Lovely Museum. They were great. There wasn't much new art, they just rearranged things a bit, and broke up one of the large halls, They took away my fav modern art piece, with burned charcoal and wood pieces on about 400 pieces of string. I like Modern art more and more as I get older--strange.
