| - At first we had great service, but as we continued our experience became an issue. My husband took me here because it was the closest location to us. Talia took us immediately back to assess the injury. I had to get a single staple in my head. It was quick and easy with just a little pain. Renee told me to come back in a week to get it removed and we would be in an out.
In the meantime, I had some lightheadedness and numbness in the following days, so I returned to get it checked out. I paid my co-pay that day thinking it was for my first visit. They saw me for all of 2 minutes, just to recommend me going to the ER because they said I could have a brain bleed and they couldn't do anything for me there. We rushed to the ER, where they said I probably just had an inflamed nerve in my neck causing the numbness. They were very helpful and honest when it came to recommendations. They laughed at the thought of me having a brain bleed, saying I would be much worse at this point in time. They just gave me a prescription for an anti-inflamitory.
I went back to FastMed to get the staple removed on the date they said. I verified my information and waited to be seen. I realize that there were quite a few people there waiting too, but I thought I would be in and out, as previously stated on my first visit. I asked Talia at the desk if I should come back the next day, she said that would work.
I returned at open of the next day. There was a new young lady, at the desk that day. She had me verify my information again, and was going to charge for another co-pay. I told her I was there the day before and she wasn't going to charge me. She said I was there twice before and only paid my co-pay once, but there was a note from my second visit saying they sent me to the ER. She told me I would have to contact billing about this. They saw me after about a half hour, with only one patient in front of me. They started to remove the staple and the nurse said it flipped, which she said she has only seen happen once before. Kevin came to help get it out, but this hurt more than getting it in the first place. They finally got it out, but I did not realize that a staple flipping was even possible.
Overall, we're not too please with how everything went. I know things come up, but the amount that came up during this time, seemed a little excessive. I'll drive a little further for a better review in the future.
