Looking for a new delicious Mexican place in town and saw the reviews at Libre. Our waiter was excellent, but what little food we ate was lacking.
We arrived excited to discover that it was happy hour. Unfortunately, the prices were already very high and the happy hour menu was very small relative to other places we enjoy. Yard House's happy hour menu easily annihilates the one we so at Libre. We opted to get a bean and cheese dip. It was not very good in my opinion. My girlfriend found it to be alright.
Next we ordered the signature Dynamite Shrimp Tacos. They were $15. We received the 4 tiniest tacos I had ever seen. I will go to places like Raku and spend some serious $ on some incredibly tasty but incredibly small dishes. There is a place for that. And even though these tacos were very good, a Mexican restaurant that offers happy hour on a weekend is not the place I am wanting to overpay for tiny amounts of food. These taco appetizers were obnoxiously small. 4 gyoza-sized miniature nano tacos for $15.
That was enough for me. Inferior cheese and bean dip, lackluster happy hour menu, overpriced food items...We went to yard house and pounded back-to-back orders of poke nachos to finish off the night.
I will say again though, that the waiter did do an excellent job. And after seeing that we were not thrilled with the experience, told us about a deal they have that involved unlimited tacos and margaritas for what seemed like an amazing price. We may go back and try that one of these days, but for now, 3 stars it is.
