The second week of May I made an appointment for Wednesday, June 12th at 10:30 a.m. with Madison Avenue Salon and Day Spa Fulton Ranch for my mother to get a perm. I do not recall who I spoke with however I pointed out repeatedly that this was for a perm and cut for my mother. Moreover, I pointed out I would be out of the country for one month (arriving on the 11th of June) so this needed to be secured before I leave. I was assured that this was not a problem. I also left my email address in case I needed to be contacted about the appointment.
I was called this morning at 9 a.m. by Trish to say that the person with whom the appointment was booked does not do perms. When I objected to the poor timing I was told "my manager will be in at 1145 would you like for me to see if she could do it?" I explained to Trish that my mother drove from Show Low , Arizona 5 hours to on Tuesday night just so she could get this perm and cut at Madison Day Salon and Spa. After much feigned sorrow for the perm not working out and after being on hold for several minutes I hung up and was called back about 10 minutes later to be told "oh I'm sorry but my manager is going to the Gilbert location - if you would still like the perm you could go there." Needless to say after the "run around" my mother did not feel confident about having her hair done by people who did not seem to take their business seriously.
I am very disappointed in the quality of customer service from this salon and would not recommend it to anyone. I had previously had a massage here and although the therapist was competent the environment was ....well empty of customers and perhaps the reason why is the poor customer service. Your salon, you purport, may have the highest level of serenity, but it definitely lacks in customer service.
