rev:text	I recently moved to Charlotte and was totally inexperienced with H.O.A.'s as well as property management companies. When I arrived in Charlotte at my new townhouse I really wanted to put up a fence and tried calling Hawthorne management To find out what the rules were about putting up a fence and what I needed to do. I also emailed them. No one responded to me. At 10:30 A.M. On Tuesday, The first work day of the week after the long Memorial day weekend, I attempted to call Hawthorne management for at least the seventh time. I was told that Heather Skinner Was in charge of my community but she had already LEFT FOR THE DAY! At 10:30 A.M.!!!! The first time I checked my mailbox I received a notice saying that I would not be paying an additional $60 a month with an attached coupon book. The explanation was that back in March my community voted to pay for new roofs that were leaky on some of the town houses. In March I did not know this community existed therefore I could not have been included in this vote, however no one disclose this to me. That is the least of my problems, they did not submit a disclosure form at all until eight weeks after I had been living in my new townhouse. They would only disclose it to me after much coercion. The disclosure I received was not the original version and had no financial statement of hawthone management attached. I had to work very hard to get this. When I finally had time to review the entire disclosure there were many discrepancies that I would not hesitate to call out right perjury. Such as every unit is owner occupied. This is not true the unit next to mine has never had anyone living in it. The disclosure also said there is no person renting any of the units. This is also not true. The disclosure asked who the association manager is which is Heather Skinner. However the disclosure says that there is no manager assigned to my community. Heather Skinner refuses to respond to anything it will not assume responsibility for anything. My life is been made so difficult because of her and I don't believe she should be working in this field. They are his elder abuse going on in my community because most of them have no Internet access and are timid about bringing up problems. They are easy financial targets and are being taken advantage of. I have board members stalking my yard as soon as I leave and are scurrying to get out when they see me pull in my parking spot. It's stressful and nerve-racking. They are looking for something to find me for some kind of a violation. They are bullies and abusing their powers and I would definitely recommend if you're buying a place anywhere do not get involved with any place that has a property management company like Hawthorne property management company Or an H.O.A. Heather Skinner has lied to me both times she was willing to speak over the phone with me. She is neither friendly or helpful. Every single piece of information I have ever obtained from her has been either a bald-faced lie or she has no idea what the answers to my questions are and is totally incompetent in her position and truthfully doesn't know what to say and just make anything up which ends up being wrong. I don't recommend Hawthorne property management company or Heather Skinner. I pay a monthly fee for them to maintain the exterior of my townhouse which include trees bushes grass and any common area. Please look at my pictures of the retaining wall that is falling apart. They refuse to respond to any architectural forms I submit or any maintenance forms you have to see these pictures to believe it. Here's the kicker the retaining wall is 30 years old and the planks are rotted they fell out into my yard and I move them and they want me to pay for the retaining wall now I am there scapegoat.
