| - An excerpt from Henry David Thoreau's "Nature" :
O Nature! I do not aspire
To be the veganest in thy choir, -
To be a non meat eater in thy sky,
Or comet that may free range on high;
Only a zephyr that may blow
Among the soybeans by the river low;
Give me thy most privy price
Where to buy my organic rice.
In some withdrawn, strip mall street
Let me sigh upon a receipt,
Or in the woods, with leafy greens,
Whisper the still kidney beans
Some bargain shopping give me to do, -
Only - be it near to you!
For I'd rather not be thy client
And pupil, when I can get fuelperks at the Giant
Then be the king of hippies elsewhere,
And most sovereign slave of credit card wear;
Holy shit, this place is expensive
Hey dreadlocked dude, don't get so defensive
Your bread is like bricks of seeds and twine
Almost ten bucks for a half pound of swine?
Your food is very healthy, this I know
But I don't need a shopping trip to land me on skid row.
