Not sure why all the glowing reviews- maybe I'm just spoiled by my reflexology foot spa at home. Staff were friendly but the massage was weak. They tried hard to up-sell us to hot stones and deep tissue massage in the beginning, despite us both mentioning repeatedly that we wanted only the "Basic Massage" on special for $20 (normally $38). The massage was very light and my masseuse didn't pin-point any muscles. Most of the time she settled on ancillary spots without joints or much muscle, stroking lightly. I think the $20 "special" is more of a permanent marketing ploy to make you think you're getting a deal, so you'll pay for add-ons or upgrades. The actual massage you get is barely worth $20 and if I had to pay $38, I would've felt robbed. I wasn't looking for a dirt cheap sub-par hour massage- I would've gladly paid $38 or more for an industry-standard foot reflexology massage. My fav place at home (Angel Feet in Oakland, CA) charges $35/hour and it's worth every penny, plus a great tip. I leave feeling worked over and like jelly. I left The Foot Spa needing a massage. (Of course like moths to the flame, we tipped 50%!)
