This place is an absolute gem. We walked back into the 1930s and got to our mission/craftsman style decorated room and went back to the 1910s -- albeit with air conditioning. There was even a deep older tub to soak in. That was very much appreciated after the wear and tear I put myself through the past week. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space and a nice closet. They still use keys. I LOVE it!
The staff were very friendly and helped us to find someplace to eat at 9:00 PM on a Friday. Be forewarned: Boulder City pretty much rolls up the sidewalk at 5:00 PM for the shops and the eateries close their kitchens at around 8:00. If you need to eat, you will have to find a fast food place or the market or drive into Henderson or Lost Wages.
The hotel had a wonderful complementary breakfast for guests. Try the rosemary potatoes. They have coffee set out from 5-10 am and again in the evening. Computer use is free. There is a museum and art gallery with gift shop in the hotel, but sadly we were out playing and missed it.
This is the perfect base camp for excursions around Lake Mead and environs.
If you like a quiet, restful hotel with some history, retro decor and architecture, then this hotel is for you. It's right in the middle of the historic district and surrounded by antique shops and good places to eat. If you like tacky Nevada Casino, those places are up the road a piece. I will be coming back here.
