| - Hm. Some weird reviews for this place - especially the 1-star for Armor-All - REALLY?!? Yes, that's a massive faux-pas, and one I've experienced more than once at a few locations (forget the golf - I've had it where you can't keep a foot on the go/stop peddles, which is damn scary!).
However, this facility is a solid little track. It's biggest minus points are definitely proximity of homes (but only on a few holes, else they're far enough back) and no driving range.
The plus points are many.
The course gets a lot of play, but rarely looks "tired" (haven't hit from dirt there, recently).
The holes, though often short, usually have something which should give pause and thought as to which shot to hit - something I think is somewhat underrated these days - not only water (of which there is plenty), but great bunkering, too.
It's also an incredible value, whether you pay rack or Golfimmediately prices.
I don't play here all the time - probably once every 5 or 6 weeks, but never seem to have any issues. Prompt service and polite staff. I took my 11-year old son out this Saturday, 0806 teetime, and we were done in 2:55.
In a city of big-budget, high-end courses, this is a great facility which I believe gives you more than you pay for. I typically play McDowell Mtn, Eagle Mtn, Kierland, Troon North, Talking Stick, etc, but somehow always find myself coming back to Starfire for a the odd round.
