The menu to this place is pretty condensed but they do have daily specials that they tell you when you're seated. The menu is very unique and appealing.
I would have made this a 5 star review if it wasn't for the wait to get my food. The beau got his food very quickly but mines did not come out until 15 minutes later! Don't get me wrong, I do not mind waiting 15 minutes to get my food. I understand things have to be prepped and cooked but c'mon, you have to time things correctly. You can NOT just have one person eating while the other stares for 15 minutes.
Other than that the food was amazing!
5 Spice Hen w/ Tomato Rice -- The spices used on the chicken was pretty good. Chicken could've been a little more moist but none the less pretty well cooked. It was also a good portion. It looked like a whole chicken (or should I say hen) was used. It was about $13, which was is a good price for the portion.
Oxtail Fries-- This was part of their specials & not on the menu. It was fries with oxtail, gravy, chopped green onions, and an over easy egg on top. The flavors really burst in your mouth. It was very unique. Honestly, I thought it was going to be like Carne Asada Fries but it had no resemble to it at all! Very good. That was about $9! I thought it was going to be more expensive!
Vietnamese Donkey-- This is their touch of Moscow Mules. & we all know I order that everywhere I go. This one was a lot sweeter than most moscow mules I've tasted. They used a Lycée alcohol and you can defiantly taste it. It even comes out with an actual Lycée fruit that I appreciated very much. This was $12, which I thought was on the pricer side but hey, its alcohol!
Besides my rant in the beginning of the review.. service was pretty decent. Our waiter was very informative when asked questions about the menu. It seemed that he knew I was getting upset about the long wait for my food so I felt he was avoiding my eye contact but other than that.. SEE YOU AGAIN SOON DISTRICT ONE!
