| - I'm actually really sad to have to give Lotus of Siam 2 stars.
I haven't been here in years, the last time was probably 5 years ago when they still had the lunch buffet. That was great and a good value. However, their dinner menu is really something that was disappointing. After waiting an hour on a Wednesday night we were seated.
We came with pretty high expectations and unfortunately they were not met. The food is pretty expensive, between $22-$32 per plate, which we all shared. Got the highest recommended dishes like the garlic prawns, crispy duck, etc etc. We spent almost $150 on 5 dishes after tax and really didn't think any of them were that great. The flavor was lacking and portions were small. If you are paying $30 a plate for Thai food, the portions should be a really good size. However, these portions were almost comically small, especially for the price.
The flavor of the dishes is really where I had issues. The food wasn't bland, but it also wasn't flavorful or even very good. It was very ok.
We left disappointed and not particularly full. I can't recommend this place in any way.
All hype, no substance =(
