| - I came to this location for a U-Haul rental, not storage. And there is a significant issue with the fact that calling is the WORST way to deal with this location. Apparently a "dispatcher" answers their phones. And apparently there are two separate phone numbers & addresses distinguishing between the storage portion & the truck rental portion. This is NOT clarified online whatsoever. Calling turned out to be more than a hassle of a nightmare.
I had no problem calling to make a truck reservation. The problem came two days later when I needed to push the pick-up time ahead by two hours. Apparently calling the number listed is not going to connect you to anyone but a "dispatcher" who literally placed me on hold for 10 minutes, only to hang up on me. I called back thinking it was an accident- no. I got hung up on again.
I nearly canceled my reservation & went elsewhere. The only reason I did not was because I was FINALLY able to get someone who was willing to listen & help on the line after being told "we will have a manager call you back". Why do I have to speak to a manager just to change a pickup time from 9am to 11am when the reservation was already made?? And come to find out- this location has TWO different addresses & phone numbers. One for storage & one for truck rentals. Which is NOT listed online. You only get the storage facility contact via online. This does not help when a reservation has already been made & one needs to call to verify or make any changes to it. How is it that I could call the number listed to make the reservation, yet when I need to call to make a change to the reservation, I suddenly am contacting a dispatcher who is telling me I need to call a different number for the truck rentals that isn't even listed???
So, after a frustrating two hour ordeal of being placed on "hold" (hung up on multiple times) I was FINALLY able to speak to someone after having to wait for a return phone call- JUST to make a change to the pickup time.
While the initial process was a pain, I will absolutely give credit where due, and the employee(s) present at my time of pickup & drop-off were MORE than pleasant, friendly & helpful. Those two ladies made the experience worth giving this facility a better rating. I wish their "dispatch" line/department would take their lead & example. Their 24 hour courtesy call was also appreciated... until I was told, "we might not have the truck you reserved available & you might have to go to another location to pick it up." WHAT?! I specifically chose this location because of the vicinity & availability of the rental! Luckily, the truck was there & ready, but I can't help but be less than impressed I made a reservation more than a week in advance to suddenly be told it might not be available a day prior to the scheduled rental.
Overall, those ladies present at the front desk made this rental worth the hassle of the initial reservation. And those ladies are the ONLY reason I would repeat business. The truck was clean. The rental was easy (at the office). But the fact that this facility has one number & address listed when it is in fact two DIFFERENT entities is stupid & needs to be fixed. As well as the horrible customer service & flaky reservation details that are clearly not solid & subject to change. No one wants to deal with that hassle & if it were not for those two ladies who made this experience worth the initial hassle, this review would be a 1 star. I would definitely NOT deal with this location for a storage unit if a truck rental was that much of a pain to reserve & verify or even make a slight change.
