I'm from Detroit and never heard of a Detroit Red Top, so my wife and I tried one out of curiosity. It reminded us of a Buddy's pizza, and it was fantastic. When you get to the crust around the edges an uncontrollable smile appears on your face. It's pricey at $27 for four large slices, but we each only ate one slice and were full. While the food was great, the service was not. It took five or ten minutes for our waitress to reluctantly wander over to our table, and then appeared irritated that she had to take an order. OK, so we will not be ordering alcohol tonight. The hostesses were also dull pencils. It was almost like the staff had just received a lecture from the boss and were all mad about something. With decent service this would have been a five star rating. The Fremont area downtown location has much friendlier staff.
