Dined for dinner at 5pm on Sunday and ordered ice tea, the shrimp appetizer and shrimp relleno. Waiter returned shortly to inform us they were out of ice tea?? o.k. he made a recommendation of lemonade since we were not drinking margaritas. I thought no biggie he made a recommendation and the lemonade was refreshing. Waiter returned about 5 minutes later to tell us the poblano sauce for the relleno is not ready so we could either have it with green sauce or order something else. Green sauce?? No thanks! Asked for the appetizer first while we glanced over the menu. Shrimp appetizer arrived and looked AND tasted like a boxed breaded oven baked shrimp. Placed our order for the chili verde. Let's just say it was a complete disappointment when arrived. For $16 the rice and beans (borrocho) tasted nothing special and the chili verde was a measly portion that could have come from a can. This is way over priced food that would be better served for under $10. Filiberto's has much better quality and quantity of food than El Zocalo. Save your time and $$ and go to Abuelo's if you are wanting Mexican food. For all the disappointments of being out of something as simple as ice tea and a sauce used for multiple dishes, the waiter made no extension of making up for it. Maybe it could have changed my mind for the place and I would have given two stars.
