The check in person refused to accept my IBM rate which I was entitled to as IBM Global Partner. The fact that he requested to verify the eligibility is not an issue. However, the fact that he started shouting at me in front of line of others checking in was terrifying. As soon as I stated that I didn't have the actual IBM partner ID he started yelling that "he could not accept this rate as there are too many people abusing the system" insinuating that I'm lying and cheating. Just horrible and so embarrassing.
Ultimately I've requested to speak to the manager who offered to accept the corporate rate as long as I could present the corporate ID number upon the check out. I contacted my employer, got the ID, provided the ID number when checking out, the problem was solved.
Frankly, the check-in employee should NOT be allowed to speak to your customers. Not sure what else to say. Over the next few months I will be coming to Phoenix on a new assignment and WILL NOT be staying that hotel.
In addition, the AC unit was very loud waking me up all night.
