Overall this is a good airport. It is close to the Las Vegas strip which means it is quick to get a cab to your hotel on the Strip from or to the airport. A trip from the MGM to the Airport runs about $12 dollars in the morning (before tip). One hint is that if you say you are being dropped off at Alaska Airlines, you will be dropped off at the first possible area in the terminal. It is a very very short walk to the end and can save you about 3-7 dollars in cab fares if the terminal area is busy where the taxes have to drive though (remember, every second you are in the cab ,you pay for...)
Slots are available in the terminal; however, I would be terrifed to play them. What if you did win a prize over $1,000 or so which would require a cash payout and tax papers, how quick would they do this and could you miss your plane because of it??
Also, food stand prices are insanely high. They really need to wake up at see how Seattle Airport does it, which requires vendors have community prices, which means for instance Wendys has a $1.00 menu and you are not gauged by high prices from gift shops...
