rev:text	I was admitted 8 days ago for an inability to walk and muscle weakness due to 7 weeks of radiation for breast cancer while taking Xeloda chemotherapy pills at the same time. My body shut down and after 3 days in the hospital I was sent here for rehab. I cannot say enough good things about this facility. Every single person on staff from CNA's to RN's to the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff were OUTSTANDING. I saw a physician every day who listened to me and discussed whatever I needed to know. The food served was phenomenal compared to food served at any hospital I have ever been in. I was treated with respect and dignity at all times and found all staff to be warm and friendly as well as extremely professional. I am a Type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump and chose to monitor my diabetes myself, so that was never an issue for me. Of course it is always important to have an advocate for any stay away from home and they encourage friends and family to stay with you 24/7 if need be. My husband stayed several nights with me, which was very comforting. If you are looking for a facility that is clean, sanitary, well maintained, please check it out. I never smelled any bad odors while staying there and if you do upon entering a facility, walk away. All rooms except for a few have shared bathrooms. I was in a room with a private toilet until I was stable and they felt my immune system was good. You will not be sorry if you need to send a loved one here for rehab....Desert Canyon facility.
