| - This is what happens when you meet these guys at a fair (SD County Fair at Del Mar, in my case). You are under pressure by their promises of savings and gift cards and you do not have time to check Yelp. The same sales pitch as described by others here- U-Verse is discontinued, this offer will save you $70 a month (it does not) etc. What a mistake! Bottom line: They robbed me of $50 "expedite fee" which I didn't even ask for. "Must pay this in cash. Don't worry, you'll get $150 gift card, so you come out $100 ahead!". There were 3 of them handling this. The Sales Manager was Antoinne Shuler, his assistant Taniesha and one other guy. My condition was that I can cancel the order if they cannot reprogram my (very) expensive Universal remote, As I do not wish to have to deal with 4-5 separate remotes to control my media center. Fair enough, they said. It will cost you 99 cents to cancel. Ok, I said.
Sure enough, it turned out their tech knows nothing about this control. I cancel the order. Direct TV refunds the first month payment (they had this charged to my card even before they scheduled installation) after a month. My $50 "expedite fee"? gone. caput. evaporated into thin air. The above mentioned team does not return calls.
Conclusion: Never do business at the Fair. Eat some junk food, send the kids on a ride, gather information, but never hand anyone there your card and never, never ever pay cash!
