I purchased a dress from NY Bride & Groom in April. I live in Phoenix, AZ- but wanted to shop with my family while I was in town. Upon arriving it was clear they had a large variety of dresses, but the store was completely chaotic and dirty. I was assigned a consultant who seemed ok. She helped me select a few dresses and then she just disappeared. After 15minutes of being alone with my family trying to clip dresses to my size a woman comes over who looked completely unprofessional (not the look of someone who wants to sell you a dress that costs as much as a used car). She then acted completely unprofessional and was obviously uneducated about dresses. After finding a dress at a deep discount in comparison to the dress shops I saw the dress at in the past, I decided to commit. My pathetic excuse for a dress consultant then measures me for a size 8. I know wedding dress sizes run large, but EVERY dress I had been sized for in the past averaged around a 4. After not trusting her judgement I decided I wanted to leave. My family couldn't understand my frustration and forced me to stay and just have another consultant measure me. She did, and sure enough I measured at a 4. My step-mother then ordered the dress and requested it be sent to my home in Phoenix.
Fast forward 4 months--
I receive a call from NY Bride & Groom asking me to come in for my fitting. I had to remind them I lived in Phoenix and planned to have alterations done here. They then shipped my dress and it arrived crammed into a box like it was a dirty towel. The dress was also in a pathetic excuse for a dress bag which obviously protected it from nothing because a few buttons on the back of the dress were already loose. And to beat it all, the dress was way too big!! Imagine if I had gone with the 8 first recommended to me!
I am now selling the dress and rushing myself a new one from a more professional bridal shop. I will scream from the rooftops-DO NOT SHOP AT NY BRIDE & GROOM!
