| - I haven't written a review before but feel compelled looking at the poor reviews this excellent place has received. This is not a typical cookie cutter suburban Phoenix bar so maybe that is a problem for the people who wrote the other reviews. And perhaps these people have never been out of the country or experienced "real" Irish pubs before. One mentions the "fake" Irishness, hum, this is not fake, this is real. They even built the freaking bar in Ireland and shipped it here! That is a little overboard, I agree they didn't need to do that but if anything it's authentic. The tables and chairs and tight seating is on purpose. The real pipe organ and built in stone fireplaces are from a real church in Ireland. The patio is huge which in my opinion it should be. We live in AZ for God's sake, we should be outside in the beautiful weather. The night I was there was one of the hottest of the year but it was comfortable with fans and tons of misters to keep the patio cool. I can't comment on the food since I didn't order any but the beer was authentic and yummy. I loved the crowd too, a great mix of young, old, dressed up, jeans, tattoos, high heels, everyone smiling as you would expect at an Irish Pub. The waitstaff/bartenders were extremely friendly and attentive. The band Iris was playing on the patio and they were really fantastic, the woman's voice was amazing whether singing U2, Tracey Chapman, Janis Joplin or Stevie Nicks covers. Of course they played some Irish stuff too. I went there with 3 of my lady friends and we had a great time. If you are into chain restaurants or night clubs then an Irish bar may not be for you but if you want a break from the suburban monotony to someplace unexpected and original, check this place out. I will be back soon!
