Who'd know you'd find a chicly decorated patisserie with goodies fully capable of enticing you into a sugar coma in a strip mall in Markham?
Noisette has one of the nicest macarons I've tried in GTA.
The shells are made just right - delicately crispy outer shells break at the slightest threshold; shell interior has enough of a chew but manages to avoid becoming dense or gluey.
They use a butter-cream-consistency filling, which is not my preference (I like ganache), but their execution is spot on.
Of the ones tried (and remembered):
Lemon - slightly sweet butter cream balances off the tartness of lemon-y shell nicely
Blackcurrant - flavour is pretty intense but not too sweet
Caramel - caramel with a dash of sea salt, need I say more
Pistachio - my least favourite, because the filling is too sweet for me and it just tasted like plain vanilla
Other goods aren't shabby either. Jenn G's introduction should be enough to get you there. Gorgeous cookies! (see pic)
P.S., the store even has cute "sidewalk" chairs and tables outside just like a Parisian cafe, although it would be pretty funny sitting there facing a strip mall parking lot.
Service exceptionally warm and unassuming, from la pâtissière to other staff.
