  • I'm not really into writing critical reviews but someone recently convinced me it was worth doing since I use yelp so often. To that point, I did look up reviews for this place ahead of time but we went with it due to it being a recommendation of a local colleague. We made a reservation for our work group of 19 to have dinner here this past weekend. In hindsight, a few red flags: 1) having the availability to accommodate 19 on a Saturday night, 3 days prior 2) being able to add on 2 more people with a few hours notice. What we hoped was just a really easy to work with restaurant turned into one of the longest dinners (3 hours) of my life. They were able to accommodate a group of 21 by using two of the long tables that were side by side. Not connected, just side by side. This wasn't a total deal-breaker but would have been helpful to know ahead of time. Also, I believe we were told we would have a private room, so the two tables were also a somewhat awkward surprise. The decor, as others have said, was really pleasing. Over at the smaller half, we watched as the longer table's drink order was taken. They were also given food menus. When the manager (we assume) came to take our table's drink orders, I replied I was only going to have flat water to start, he turned around and walked away, leaving the others at my table totally agape. When he flew past us again, one of my group hailed him in French and read him the riot act. He returned hurriedly with glasses almost slamming on the table and with 4 bottles of wine set to the side table - their wine menu was incorrect and hadn't been reprinted. I think he tried his best but it did not seem as though he (or the hostess that was helping?) was regular wait staff. We did get food menus after the wine came (and my water did not lol). It's almost 2 hours in when we receive our food. The other table (of 12) had ordered and was being served - although their food came within a span of 20 minutes. I didn't think that looked good for us, but we actually were served promptly - except for one of us that had to wait about 10 minutes while the rest of us had our food. The food itself - it was ok. I will say the chicken in my dish was the most succulent chicken I've ever had in a curry, so that was really nice. Everything else I tried wasn't really worth writing about and I skipped lunch, so I would have thought everything by that point would've tasted to me like heaven. So if you're in a big group, maybe look elsewhere. I don't think they were ready for us. Maybe someone didn't come to work or they failed to put another on shift on the schedule. Others in smaller tables looked happy and were tended to quickly so it didn't seem to be an issue in that regard.
