| - There's nothing bad about this place. Just not great. We came on a Saturday night and the place was jamming pretty good. We did have a reservation in the restaurant area and were promptly sat. The server greeted us asking if we were interested in hearing the draft list. We obliged and tried to catch the beers she was clearly in a hurry to get thru. I don't know about you, but I much prefer a list. Now, in a place like this that has such a high turnover draft rate, that is sometimes a difficult feat. I get it! Anyway, nice selection by both draft and bottle. Cocktails looked pretty darn good as well.
We started with pierogies, tequila lime wings, and the onion rings. The pierogies were alright, but just way too smothered in sour cream. And I like sour cream. The wing flavor was very blah. The wings themselves were good, a crispy skin but not dried out. We could have used some ranch or blue for the celery. And the onion rings were awesome. But please just give me a bottle of ketchup. I really don't want your 1oz paper cup.
For dinner I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was great. The sauce was a bit tangy, so beware if you don't like spicy stuff, and the meat was very tender. However, I never got my cole slaw. I was really looing forward to this. And the server was too busy to even flag down. I ordered the French fries as the side and they were gross. they were fresh cut, but soggy and dirty tasting. The homemade chips I stole off other plates were very good. Everyone else had burgers and everyone seemed happy.
For dessert we had the crème brulee and the apple tart. Both were very good.
All and all just kinda middle of the road. I would like to check out the speakeasy in the basement at some point. Sounds as though you need a reservation for that as well.
