  • This is by far my favorite restaurant, EVER. My fiancee and I will never leave Charlotte without having dinner and drinks here. We have gone on many different nights of the week. Although weeknights typically less crowded, there is usually always a bit of a wait (which is always worth it). One of my favorite aspects of this place is their drink menu. I've lived in the tri-state area my whole life, so I have been spoiled by many speakeasy cocktail bars in New York City. My fiancee and I tried to find something comparable in Charlotte. It wasn't until we found Soul Gastrolounge that we found a place that offered invigorating cocktails that went beyond margaritas and manhattans. Their drink menu is always changing and they are tailored to the season. Their menu is incredibly versatile. Following a tapas style menu, small plates range from salads, skewers, wings, tacos, and flatbreads to sushi, sashimi, sliders and paninis. You would think that with such variety, that it all couldn't be good. However, I have NEVER had something that I didn't like. A few unique specials are always offered, but the regular menu alone can keep you occupied. My favorites are the midwood mixed greens salad, chimichurri beef skewers, pork belly tacos, goat cheese and pesto flatbread, the Soul Roll, and Korean BBQ wings. We have been there several times and still haven't tried everything that we've wanted to. Don't forget to try their cupcake of day for dessert. A DJ has always been spinning when we've gone. Following with the lounge theme, he plays subtle, but not typical or cheesy lounge music. It's enough to spark your interest without being overwhelming or distracting. I HIGHLY recommend Soul Gastrolounge!
