| - What a pity that the words pasty and tasty don't exactly rhyme despite the spellings, and despite the fact that Cornish pasty is so fkn tasty! The word "pasty" (in the context of Cornish pasty) rhymes with the U.S. pronunciation of the word "nasty" (how perverse is that!).
Traditional or non-traditional, authentic or otherwise, I have enjoyed every one of the pasties I've tried here. My favorite among the savory pasties is the cottage pie pasty. Well, is it even possible to go wrong with seasoned ground beef, mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, carrots and peas all stuffed into a buttery, flaky pie? I think not.
The chicken tikka masala pasty contains diced potatoes and green peppers (not what you'd expect in chicken tikka masala) along with curried chicken.
The sweet pasties are great, but they are a rather large portion for dessert. The sticky toffee pudding is some of the best I've ever had.
The interior of the restaurant is very dark. Not sure what kind of effect the owners were going for, but whatever it was, it was completely lost on me.
The Cornish Pasty Company started in the Phoenix area, and has expanded into cities like Las Vegas and Boston. I'm just waiting for them to come to New York City!
