  • Do not buy a used car here. They are deceptive and will say anything to get you to agree to the deal but will not follow through with their promises. Mike is particularly awful, especially when you add his horrible interpretation of fashion sense to his two-faced typical used car salesman personality. Main contributing deception in this tale: They are advertising through the USAA car buying service but not actually working directly with USAA to obtain financing for you. Here is my story: After finding a used truck we wanted to buy through the USAA car buying service, my husband and I showed up here for a test drive. Test drive was good so we decided that we wanted to move forward with buying the truck and told both the salesman, Bobby, and the used car sales manager, Mike (wearing a ridiculous high-vis green polo), that we only wanted to apply to USAA for a car loan. Mike told us that we didn't need to apply to USAA ourselves because they worked with USAA directly and could get the loan for us. So we filled out a credit app with the specific instructions that the application only goes to USAA and preceded to wait. Bobby kept coming to us with paperwork in an effort to make sure we could leave with the truck that night but nothing was loan related so we assumed (wrongly) that they were collating the loan details. Finally, Josh, the finance manager took us back to his office to fill out final paperwork, or so we thought... We start signing things when Josh asks "So do you already have a USAA loan or are you going to get one?" My husband and I look at each other with expressions of "WTF?" and I turn to Josh and say, "Mike told us that you were applying to USAA for us." Josh: "That's impossible, we don't work with USAA." This triggers a back and forth about what we were told versus what was actually happening and Josh eventually leaves to get Mike. When Mike walks in, he immediately starts dictating that we must have misheard him and he'll try to clear up the miscommunication. Me - "No, we both heard you say that you were going to get our USAA loan for us." Mike - "I wouldn't have said that because we don't work with USAA." Me - "You're a liar and now I need you to tell me what you did with that credit application I filled out." Mike - "Don't worry about that because if you're going to get this upset, I don't need to sell you this car." ..... and he walks out. We tear up the paperwork that was left in front of us (there's still a file with my credit application that I've asked to be shredded multiple times) and start to walk out. As I'm walking out, I stop the next employee I see and ask to speak someone that is above Mike. After some bumbling between that guy (who had only been there 6 days) and the presumably new car salesman (only guy wearing a tie) across from him, we're told there's no one above Mike present. At that time, Bobby and Lee Jones come over to presumably corral in the loud woman that I've become and take me back to Bobby's desk. At this time, I am apologized to for the miscommunication (which Bobby admits that he heard me say the credit app was only for USAA) but I need to apply for the USAA loan myself. I say I would have earlier had I been told this was the case. We end up leaving that night, laughing at the fact that they were so sure we were buying that truck that night, they had it parked next my truck that we came in (not the trade in). Since then, they have called me to come down on the price another $500 and promised I could take it to my mechanic for inspection but then made it very difficult for us to accomplish with time constraints due to other alleged appointments to see the truck. I have since found financing independent of them and am looking at similar vehicles at different dealerships. Car dealers are rarely pleasant to deal with but bold-faced lying is just abhorrent.
