| - We hired Rolling in Dough to make our wedding cake. They were the preferred vendor from Emerald at Queensridge, and understandably so. We met with them a few months in advance and did a tasting. The cake was awesome - to the point where it is hard to pick a few. We did a four layer cake, all with different flavors. The cake looked stunning, and it tasted amazing!!! Our guests loved it. Sadly, we were so busy talking to people, I literally had ONE bite and my wife had one bite of each type.
The young lady who helped us design the cake (I forget her name, but was a chipper young blonde woman and very nice) was very professional and clearly laid out options, commonly done designs, and some suggestions.
The only bad part was that we ordered a cake topper that did not arrive in time. We contacted them to ask for them to do more flowers on the top, which they agreed to do and even told us a price. With all of the craziness leading up to the wedding day, we didn't really think about the fact they they never called us like they said they would to collect payment. Honestly, I was thinking that perhaps they threw in the extra flowers since we were paying well over $800 for a cake. Of course the cake shows up to the venue with NOTHING on top. It wasn't a huge deal, because the cake cutting was quick and we got down to the important part... letting everybody eat it.
So basically, I'm giving them 4 stars on the whole of the experience, the quality of the cake, the appearance, and pleasant crew.... But when you pay that kind of money for a cake, you'd think a phone call would be made just to verify before sending it out the door. We certainly could have called them to check up on it, but with so many people in town and so much to do before the big day, we just spaced on it. I was a little surprised they didn't reach out and at least apologize or offer a partial refund for having a topper-less cake at a snazzy wedding, but for all I know, they thought we had the topper at the venue.
Bottom line: beautiful and delicious work.... just double check the details the day before.
