  • Ah, the Waffle House. I won't go into any detail regarding decor, food, or even service, because after sampling several dozen of these establishments across the country, I can say that they're all pretty much alike. What made this experience stand out was the fact that some poor kid was experiencing his first day at work here, and watching him blunder around blindly and watching the more experienced workers giving him only the minimum guidance (with maximum attitude) made this more like a dinner show than a simple late morning breakfast. It was riveting. I hope he hangs in there...
