  • I will start off my saying I am new in town, and this office was recommended to me by a new friend. I called the office because I was having tooth pain and I was getting ready to leave on a two week vacation to Hawaii (10 days out), plus it had been nearly 12 months since my last checkup. The woman who answered said they could see me right away to address my sore tooth, and they could book another appointment a couple days later for my checkup. I asked her if they could address both is the same visit, and she said no problem, so I made the appointment. I showed up for my initial appointment and filled out the normal paperwork for "first time patients". On the paperwork, I marked the reason for my visit was a "sore tooth". They proceeded to take me in, do all the x-rays and provide me a summary of the overall status of my dental hygiene which included diagnosing my sore tooth. The interesting part is, that most of the time I spent with the nurses. The Dr. came in briefly and took a peak. When they were finished, they were discussing my various issues with my teeth, and brought up how they could "fix" everything and included veneers. Well, I don't know much about veneers, but they made it sound great. However, when I sat down with them, they told me the cost to do all the work would be $23,000.00, but they "discounted" me down to $18,000.00. I am a person who has been very blessed on the financial side of things, so I said if that was going to "fix" everything, I guess I would go forward. They proceeded to take my credit card and bill my card for 50%, which was $9,000.00. They then scheduled me for a "cleaning" and imprint (for veneers) for the next day. So when I got home that night and told my wife ( who is much more dental knowledgable than I), she said there was no way she was going to have me do all that work, and it was unnecessary. I called the office and told them that I did not wish to go forward with all of the work, and they told me we could discuss it when I came in the next day for my cleaning. Basically, after my cleaning, they told me that I needed to put a cap on 8 teeth, and the new cost was $9,000.00. When I asked about them fixing my sore tooth, they told me there entire office was leaving on vacation the next day, and I would have to wait until I returned from my vacation. I was flabbergasted. I ended up going to a different dentist in town to fix my tooth. To make matters even worse, when I called the office to have them refund my credit card, the nurse proceeded to tell me that "it was a lot of money and she would need to talk to the Dr before she could issue the credit. I told her fine, and asked her when I would here back, and she said "within a few hours". Well, the entire day went by and I received no call back, so I called the office at 4pm and asked her why my credit card was not yet credited. She told me that they were "really busy" and the Dr had not had a chance to call me. I told her that I did not need to speak to the Dr, and she needed to put the $9,000.00 back on my credit card immediately, and furthermore, I will not speak to the Dr until AFTER they credit back my card. She then called me back to tell me that they credited my card back except an $800.00 charge that I incurred for "lab work" on my imprints for the veneers. I told her that there was no way that I could have incurred that charge, because I called and canceled that procedure the next day. She said she would need to "check it out" and call me back. I told her that if whoever is making the decision on billing me the $800.00 thinks it is a legitimate charge, that person needs to call me. She called me back (within minutes) and told me that the $800.00 would be credited as well, but the Dr still wanted to speak to me. I told her he has my cell, and he can call me anytime. By this time, I was feeling like this office was simply after my wallet. I went in for a sore tooth, which did not get addressed, and ended up having his nursing staff try to sell me on $18,000.00 worth of dental work that was not needed. When I changed my mind on doing the work, they delayed crediting back my credit. That was the bottom line. I assumed the Dr. wanted to have a discussion with me on how things went in the wrong direction, and hopefully have a reasonable agreement to shake hands and go our separate ways. Boy, was I wrong!! When the Dr did call me back, he was completely arrogant, and refused to take any accountability whatsoever for how the situation moved from a sore tooth (that was never addressed) to his office trying to sell me on 18k worth of work. He started actually questioning MY integrity..LOL. It was the most unbelievable experience I have ever had with ANY service provider. I could not believe the tact he was taking. Absolutely 0 accountability. He was somehow trying to tell me that I had no integrity. It was truly unbelievable. Hence the "1" ranking which should be a "0".
