After hearing all the hype I made my way to The Old Fashioned to see what all the fuss was about. I came here around 10:00 on a Saturday and waited about 15min, not bad. We were seated by hostess at a table near the window (Thank you!! loved the window seat) and given water and utensils right away. Our table was wet and sticky but it didn't bother me too much seeing as to how busy they were.
I, ofcourse, started off with an order of cheese curds which definitely lived up to my expectations. Perfect texture of smooth and cheesy while having a slight crunch to the outside. Yes they were served in a bowl filled with oil but hey, they were still darn good and who am I to be fussy about deep fried cheese lol. We had the cheese curds with a side of the Tiger Sauce which I believe has a horseradish base which tasted okay. It took about 30min for my burger to come but I understood that they were packed and extremely busy. I ordered The Old Fashioned burger. The fries were outstanding. The burger itself was unfortunately slightly disappointing. I LOVE onions. But the onions on the burger tasted off and bland. Plus there was a ridiculous amount of them on my burger. I also didn't care for the egg or the seasoning of the burger itself. On the plus side, it was very meaty, juicy, and cooked to perfection.
Overall If I could rate this place I would give it a solid 3.5. Since that's not an option I rounded up since our server and the service we received was superb.
