  • I LOVE this place so far. I'm new to barre and I haven't been able to workout in the past couple of years due to medical health related issues so I was super nervous when I signed up. I've also never been a flexible person, which made me even more nervous! I am so happy that I did it thought and that I also got to take advantage of their awesome summer promo! I have taken classes with Whitney, Christine, Lisa, Sean, and Rachel so far and they are ALL GREAT! They are supportive and enthusiastic throughout the class and incredibly kind, non-judgmental, and encouraging with feedback when provided. I especially appreciate when they help me with my form during class (e.g., reminding me to square my body, straighten my foot, release tension that I'm holding in my neck/shoulders). These are all good reminders because your body is predisposed to keep bad habits going. Also, the positions and poses we do in class don't come naturally to me so my form tends to be shaky, but I'm very hopeful that I'll get better at it with each class thanks to the supportive instructors. The instructors also do a great job challenging you. I've never felt singled out and/or overwhelmed with their feedback either. The instructors also make it a point to introduce themselves and know your name. They already knew that I was a new client and new to barre. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming! They also help you with all the equipment during your first class to show you the ropes, which is really great because there's definitely a learning curve to barre. I was really impressed during one class when Rachel came up to me and suggested that I be careful not to hyperextend my arms/legs and that would help protect me from more joint pains. I was planning on mentioning my joint pains to the instructors but kept forgetting. It was a nice feeling to know that she read my new client forms and already knew about my joint issues (I have an autoimmune disease)-- really above and beyond! Speaking of my hyperextending issues (which unfortunately happens pretty much everywhere in my body), I spoke with Elissa and Christine about this after class and they gave me really helpful advice. Elissa said that she would add it to my file and to also let my instructors know ahead of time- very professional and supportive! I feel really taken care of here, but also empowered to take charge of my own strength and health. Elissa is also wonderful by the way and I'm looking forward to taking a class with her too. The entire facility and amenities are great. The workout rooms are well equipped... everything is clean. I never feel squished for space in the studio room. The MindBody App is super easy to use for scheduling. They provide lockers with keys, which I like. The temperature in the room is always right and there are ceiling fans that I'm especially thankful for when I start getting sweaty! I love the sequence of the exercises and the music. They have a nice way of making it very challenging but also peaceful, which I think is a difficult balance to achieve! They also have fun incentives/rewards that keep you motivated to come back for more classes! Whitney sent me a postcard after my first class to congratulate me and also gave me nice bath salts to help soothe my sore muscles. I love all the attention to detail and extra care that this studio has displayed already. I can already tell that my strength and flexibility are increasing even after a few classes. I feel so lucky that this particular studio with these instructors are right in my neighborhood! I can't wait to keep improving and also start biking there once the weather cools down!:)
