| - My daughter, who was living in New Orleans, had brought her old 1995 Volvo 940 wagon in to several mechanics in NOLA without success. It had been running rough and would stall at low idle. She had been told it needed anything from a camshaft to and main engine bearing seal.
Based on the issues she had described I didn't think either of those repairs would solve the problem. So when she was visiting, I brought the car to Joe. We explained the issues and he said it didn't sound like major work was needed. He explained what he thought might be the issue based on the symptoms, but would give us an estimate once he had a chance to look at it. He got back to us quickly and as I suspected, it only needed a tune up, i.e. wires, plugs, etc. He also found it needed a crankshaft sensor.
Not only was the work done quickly, but he saved all the old parts so we could see their condition. The car has been running perfectly for several weeks now.
In a nutshell, this was a wonderful experience. Joe did an excellent job. He is clearly very knowledgeable about Volvos, is honest, reliable and reasonably priced.
