They don't do reservations, so when you first come in you register your name and email and cell number on an ipad at the front desk. Then you can stay and watch TV, play bubble hockey, browse their hair products, play Pac-Man/Galaga or leave the store and go to a store nearby. They will text you to remind you of your appointment time. So, a one-hour wait at 5pm on a Friday might be easier if you can also get some errands done in the meantime.
The services offered are haircuts, shaves and scalp treatments (they also sell scalp treatment products). I'm not sure what they're about, but I have a feeling everyone will need them one day. The haircut also includes a mini scalp massage, which is incredibly relaxing. I wonder if people fall asleep? After the hair wash and massage they apply a minty something which makes my head tingle. I hope that's the intended result.
Despite all the manliness, it's a place suitable for kids and there were a few boys with their pops lined up after me. It's nice there's an actual standup arcade game so the men can pass on the important things to the next generation. Like how to get a second gunship in Galaga. The haircut was great. The hairdresser was pleasant. The atmosphere was open and friendly.
The only downside is you could get a more frugal haircut somewhere down the street, but this place gets big ambience points.
