Guess my review may not be doing too much good since this was the last season! for the CUBS at HoHo but I'll get it in here anyway...and I will look forward to next Spring season nearby at 8th St & Dobbins. (looks good!!) Who knows...maybe something will fall through and we'll be back here next year!
I finally had gotten my groove down for games at HoHo & I'll miss it - my shortcut off 8th St (instead of McKellips) and then parking at a nearby biz where my friend had hooked me up! Otherwise, parking nearby on a side street was our way to go in the past. I can see how those driving into the lot here would be tearing out their hair.
I liked the stadium itself and though the lawn is nice, I do like the up close and personal action of sitting behind the dug outs. (Though at both games when we had those seats, we had a bat come flying at us in the seats! Hold onto your bats, men! Those loose bats made drifting off into the beer and sun a little more like "living on the edge!" than leisurely taking in a game.)
I enjoyed watching pitchers warming up out by right field and I hope the new facility preserves that kind of experience. I hope they leave the mean lady at Gate ___ (can't recall it now!) but she knows who she is. No room for grumpy grumps at the new stadium! Otherwise, the staff is awesome!
I can't stand the fees tacked on if you order by web/phone so I come in person and pay face value price! Day of game tix are always a $1.00 more each so I usually load up best I can in the beginning of the season. I need that buck for beer! No break there - beers are $11 !? for a Sierra Nevada - I won't even quote the oz because unless it was 128oz (which it wasn't) - it's a major league rip off an this is just spring training. I'll be vexed if concession prices increase at the new stadium...otherwise...looking forward to it (already!)
