  • Overall, this is a pretty nice airport. Nothing stunning, but not bad either. Upon arrival, I was able to easily follow the signs for 'public transportation' out to the end to locate the Sprinter bus that would take me into downtown (Uptown) for a mere $2. One thing I liked about this bus is that at the start/end points of the airport and the Charlotte Transit Center, there is only one stop so it's very easy to figure out where to go. Returning to the airport, I reversed my route back into the baggage claim area and headed upstairs. I got into the somewhat long security line at section C and was told that there was almost no wait if I headed further down to D, so I did - where I was told there was NO wait at section E. So the only delay at security was the time it took me to navigate through the queue, which is always a great thing. Even the TSA agents were pleasant and wished me a nice flight. Other positives about Charlotte include the availability of outlets and charging stations for electronics, free wi-fi, and a nice bright atrium area between the concourses. Probably the worst part is that the gate area between the door and the walkway is fairly short and so as people line up to board their flight - especially if they are boarding at two gates opposite each other - the middle walkway becomes nearly impassable. I would have no qualms about using this airport again.
