I've had a lot of massages in my life... from high end to dollar a minute places...and probably go on a weekly basis so I kind of consider myself an expert ;) this was barely a 3-star experience ... border line 2-star.
I was staying at Mandalay Bay for a conference and wanted a 90 minutes massage without having to spend $250. I did some research on local massage places and Massage Well came up with high reviews. Typically I enjoy the Asian style massage because of the no frills and straight to business approach. I also like DEEP.
I took a cab which was $25 (always take Uber, not cabs, in Vegas it was $11 to Uber back ...) the business is on a second floor of an office building in a strip mall is West Vegas.
I arrived and was greeted at the front desk and asked to sign in. Then I was taken back to a room which was clean and pleasant. I had a male masseuse, Thom, which I wasn't expecting - most places ask first if that's okay but whatever, no biggie. Of course it makes no difference but in a new setting I'd prefer a female just so I can be 100% comfortable and relaxed. Anyway, Thom was firm but his technique was lacking. Just a lot of pressure without getting deep and not the kneading into my knots that I want and expect. Normally I like deep but this just wasn't targeted and felt amateur. He did check in and was attentive. But I will say for $60 it was a good price. I tipped $15 which is low for me but reflective of what I received.
