When I came to Vegas first I was aghast by how "bare" it was compared to cali. Not many greens...it was brown everywhere you would turn. But over time I've come to see the beauty of this desert. Red Rock, although lacks trees, has it's own beauty. There's something about the redness of the rocks, the polka dot or sideways patterns of the rocks, and the grandeur of the rocks.
Beware that due to lack of landmarks everything looks the same and you may get lost...so don't go off course. speaking from experience ;)
If you hear loud trumpet sounds...it's not a band...if you are lucky you will get to see the wild donkeys (they do really exist, the signs aren't joking) but if you get close they will run away from you.
FYI this place gets super hot in the summer so it's best to go super early (rather than super late just in case you get lost).
There are a lot of rock climbers around...I tell myself I will try it one of these days!!
