  • I have been contemplating getting a tattoo for about 15 years now and have checked out a several shops throughout the valley. Most greeted me, showed me their portfolio, and then I never heard a peep out of them again so I left. I started following a few of the shops in Arizona on Instagram and Apache Tattoo always posted great work. My only dilemma was that I didn't know what I wanted and I hadn't really connected with any of the artists or owners at the other shops. I went into the shop and Chunk greeted me right away asking great questions about what brought me into the shop. Once I said that this would be my first tattoo, he sat down with me and talked about size, care, location, what would look good long term, and actually pulled up some samples of artwork on the internet for me to look at so I could narrow down what I wanted. My apprehension about getting a tattoo was gone because Chunk took 10 minutes to talk with me and educate me about tattoos. I went home, picked out what I wanted that night, and was back at his shop the next day getting my first tattoo. I absolutely love my tattoo and everyone asks me where I got it done. Chunk is an amazing artist and it took a special person for me trust with my first tattoo. The defining moment here for me was that he took the time to make me feel valued and comfortable with something that was brand new to me. It is very rare for a business to do this with their customers and I appreciate it more than words can say. Please support this local business and the fact that Chunk truly cares about his customers and overall happiness. Keep up the great work man!! :-)
