I was looking for a "local" restaurant and certainly found it at Lon's. When I entered the property I was met with a beautiful courtyard with candles, a fountain and musicians. The hostess and maitre d' greeted me warmly and seated me at a small table beside the fountain. I thought I had found the perfect place to enjoy dinner. Unfortunately my waiter was not so attentive as it took too long to take my drink order and then too long to take my food order. I basically felt ignored. (Full Disclosure: I mentioned my frustration to the maitre d' who was very apologetic and ultimately compensated me for part of my meal.)
With that said, the duck that I ordered was absolutely wonderful. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, very flavorful and was plated with gnocchi.
Had I not experiences the service glitch, I would have given Lon's a full five stars. I am sure this was not normal for Lon's but for me, it gave a less than desirable impression.
