I just had my first visit to Sam's Spa for a 70 minute massage with hot stones. I found this place on Groupon. After reading a lot of other reviews, I want to weigh in on some things I noticed.
Location: It's one door down from Chipotle in the Wal-Mart shopping center. It was clean and reasonably attractive.
Massage rooms: I was there at what seemed to be a slow time, so of course I didn't hear anyone else. They have partitioned a large room with walls that go almost to the ceiling but not all of the way. Each room had a curtain across the opening and it's very private. The table was comfortable. It seemed lower than I'm used to.
Massage: This was fantastic. I went in sore from my neck to my lower back and left feeling lots better. Those hot stones are hot! My therapist warned me and checked in periodically about the pressure she was using and to see if the stones were too hot. Almost, but not quite too hot. I definitely got the whole time.
Service: I made a same day appointment and found that they were very courteous over the phone and in person. My therapist, Lisa, did a great job and she was nice as well. The tipping thing was kind of weird, because they definitely have reminders for you, in case you don't know you're supposed to tip. I would have anyway of course. I'm just used to the desk staff taking the tip on behalf of the therapist. A little awkward, but now I know.
