I used uber for a couple months and all was fine, until last week. I was looking at my bank account and saw a charge i did not make, from Sydney, Australia. My account information was somehow leaked and they changed my account information.
Here is what really ticked me off. I tried calling Uber's Customer service number... The line just goes to an answering machine saying Email is faster.
When i emailed the customer service i checked my bank again. There was another charge on my account.
I ended up telling my bank to freeze my account.
It wasnt until 2 HOURS after my email that they got back to me. I still had to supply them info and hope they will freeze the damn account.
After the second email it took them a whole nother 2 HOURS to respond again.
Here i am, around 5 hours later, 2 successful false charges on my bank account amounting to about $80 and two unsuccessful notifications on it. Finally Uber recovers my account and promises to return the money.
However, my card is now useless because the bank will not reinstate a card that has been blocked, and it takes a week to get a new one.
Uber's customer service is the worst i have ever seen. Not having a call center is the worst decision a business of this size can make.
