I have to hand it to Ladurée for generating such a charming atmosphere in their small store. The decor elevates their brand, and creates a sense of luxury.
My friend and I arrived around 12:30pm on a Tuesday, and waited in line for about 20 minutes. There were no staff outside manning the line or providing instructions, so everyone was a bit confused. Was this the line just to buy macarons? Was there a separate process to get seated? They could definitely use some more ushers.
Macarons are never cheap, but I do think the prices here are slightly higher than average ($27 for a box of 6). The flavours I ordered were chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, rose petal, hazelnut, and coffee. They tasted quite similar to other macarons such as at Butter Avenue. I do wish I had tried the Canada-exclusive maple syrup macaron.
I don't think the macarons are worth the money (perhaps just the gorgeous packaging makes up half the price), but I would visit Ladurée for the experience.
