  • I recently did a search for bridal shops who can dye a pair of dyeable shoes that I recently purchased. I called Brides to Be because It was the closest one to my house and luckily they do dye the shoes I have. I called and the woman I spoke with said it would cost $15 and take 3-5 days. I took my shoes in one day after I got off of work and upon walking in, there was no one else in the store. The sensor on the door made a loud noise to alert the workers that someone had entered the store. I headed to the back of the store where someone was watching tv on a computer and sewing something behind the counter. I approached the counter and the woman was so engrossed in the tv show that I had to say hello after a few minutes of waiting at the counter. She must have been fully engrossed in it because I startled her and she jumped. I told her that I called and spoke to someone about getting the shoes dyed and she took the order on a small pad. She asked what color I wanted the shoes dyed and I said black (the shoes started as white). She said ok and then asked me two more times what color I wanted them. I had to point to something that was black for her to understand. I paid and was told that they would be ready in a few days. Several days later I returned to pick up the shoes and someone else was helping behind the counter. I told her I was picking up my shoes and she was looking around for them. I gave her the slip/receipt that I received when I dropped off the shoes. After about 10 minutes she found the shoes and showed them to me. They looked great, however she said to be careful because if I were to get the shoes wet, the dye would run off. I asked her if the dye was permanent and she said yes but not to get the shoes wet or it would rub off. While reasonably priced, I feel that I could have purchased dye for the price I paid and could have done the job myself. Perhaps it would not run off if I got my shoes wet.
