| - Referred to this company by my insurer (which obviously means I need to research better insurers--I digress). They did come out same day for an interior wall leak damage inspection BUT they charge you $125 for the pleasure and provide no written quote of the work to be performed. They gave me an oral ballpark of $800-$1,000 (against which they'd apply the $125 if I booked them for the work -- a scam if ever there was one to "entice" you to pick them). They were all too eager to bill, and likely overbill, my insurer (who, again, was pretty clear they didn't want to pay anything for this anyway as the pipe wasn't struck by lightning, on the 4th Wednesday of the 3rd month, per my covered expenses...sarcasm, much). My handyman (also reviewed by me on Yelp) who identified and repaired the leak, told me to set up some fans, spray some bleach, and in this dry climate, I'd be fine without the dramatic wall cuts and carpet tear up this company recommended. If you're looking to stick it to your insurer with a high bill (which will come back to you in higher premiums), this is the company to choose. But if you have a minor leak resulting in damp carpets and walls, skip it. Hire a handyman to get to the leak, open up some drywall to air it out, and patch it up afterwards. Will cost me a lot less. Paul Davis Restoration, in contrast, at least came out same day to inspect for free (still no written quote - everyone's eager to overcharge insurers).
