Sounds like a great idea, right? Put a bar in a museum, get a DJ and people will love it. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The live band was some kind of whiny Nickelback sound-a-like which completely clashes with the backdrop of a supposedly classy cultural establishment. Following the band, the DJ played "Top 40" hits. Really?
Then there is the issue of accessibility to actual exhibitions: the only place you can visit is the dinosaur room where you can look at dinosaur fossils. Yawn. The entrance fee is not that high ($12) but if all you can see is a dinosaur room, you might as well go to a bar for free and look at dinosaurs on Google.
ROM - take note of Fridays at the Guggenheim: there are great tunes that attract a diverse crowd, access to actual art, and people over 21 actually attend.
2 stars because the IDEA is fantastic. But the execution needs serious fine tuning.
