| - When I came in to have my hair colored, I explained to the stylist that this was my first time having my hair professional colored, and that all the hair on my head was virgin hair, so I was a little nervous. I showed a picture of what I wanted (an ombre balayage), and had booked online as "balayage," so I thought it was clear what I wanted, but I guess not. The stylist started on my hair with foil highlights within 30 seconds of me sitting in the chair, and what I got was nowhere near what I had showed as what I wanted. What I got were piece-y highlights, definitely nothing close to what I was expecting. I also picked this salon because I saw that they used Olaplex, which I didn't get a chance to ask for (as I said, the stylist started on my hair within practically 30 seconds of me sitting down), and obviously wasn't used in the bleach I got because my hair has been hopelessly difficult to untangle since getting the highlights. Overall, some of it was my fault as I didn't speak up and say "slow down, let's make sure we are on the same page here," but as I said I had never had my hair dyed professionally (only experience with hair color was box dye in middle school) and I didn't know what to expect. Now I know for next time that I need to be more vocal and clear about what I want. I don't hate my hair, but I definitely cried the next day over how much money I had spent to end up with something I didn't want. The stylist was clearly very distracted while working with me, and about ripped my scalp out when brushing my hair after washing out the color and toner, which was unexpected as I figured a professional would know how to brush out tangles, but it made my eyes water big time. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend, despite the rave reviews, based on my own experience.
