  • Ah, the church where Celine Dion got married! I've been wanting to visit this for years. Today was finally the day. Outside the church was simply majestic. However inside was even better. The colors remind me of a jewel box. The alter was just impressive. There is also a less showy chapel in the back but it's artistic merits is good in its own way. $5 donation will get you in the door. You can stay as long as you want. There's a gift shop in the back but it's not really accessible if there's a big crowd. The shop consists of a kiosk and everything is locked in s glass case much like a jeweler's. I didn't get to check out the tchotchkes because there were a gaggle of teenage girls surrounding the kiosk. I've been to St. James cathedral in NY and Grace Cathedral in SF. Norte Dame is hands down the most impressive!
