  • I'm kicking myself in the ass for not trying this place before tonight! I always thought this place was some modern-style sushi place that we have way too much of in the valley. I was shocked to find out it's actually owned by a Japanese couple that actually know how to make really good sushi. This is hands down, the best, freshest, sushi I have had in Phoenix in the past decade! I've lived in Japan and my wife is Japanese, so we are always on the lookout for something wothwhile. This place is it. I didn't experience the service issues other people had (in fact, my service was great), but the food was so much more superior than any of the more expensive sushi joints in town. For reference, I had the salmon, tuna, mackerel, smoked salmon, eel, and yellow tail. We also had the spider (softshell crab) rolls, vegetable tempura, and seaweed salad. All excellent.
