We just finished doing some engagement photos at Venetian, and decided we wanted to try some Italian nearby. Buddy V's had good reviews, so why not? On one hand, we were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food. We're accustomed to plain-jane low-budget Italian restaurants (that many people scoff at even calling Italian) like Olive Garden. Buddy V's was accommodating and everything we tried was exquisite. They even made a custom Alfredo sauce for me that they don't have on their current menu. I had the eggplant parmesan with added Alfredo, as well as the cheesy garlic bread and a caesar salad. The eggplant was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and full on the inside. And the Alfredo was to die for, especially since I had been craving it so bad. And their caesar salad had croutons made of polenta! Definitely never had that before! It reminded us of tofu at first, but we knew it couldn't be. So good! The fiancé also was in love with his lasagna but had devoured way too much bread for sure beforehand, and whined that he couldn't finish the size. Haha. The downsides of this place is that it was busy, so we ended up having to ask for our own complimentary bread and balsamic/olive oil dip that only about half the restaurant was getting. Also we got sat next to this horrendous couple that were so weird and probably bored with their lives that they sat there discussing and making fun of us like we wouldn't be able to see and hear them. Not really Buddy V's fault, but it dampened my experience. If I'm remembering right, they have 7-days-a-week happy hour. That's always a plus for any restaurant!
