| - First let me say this...I gave 5 stars for the hotel room and how beautifully the hotel was decorated and cleanliness! We was in town from Pittsburgh, PA for a R&B concert headliner "H-Town". We was here on Valentine's Day 2015.
The line was very long for valet, but that's the only way you can park unless you go across the street to the IMG parking garage and I'm not sure if it's overnight. It was $30 for overnight parking. We thought that was very pricey since we was paying for a pricey hotel room it should been included.
It was icy and one of the valet staff helped me to the door since I had on 5 inch heel boots (should had on tennis shoes). I was very impressed with the hotel decor and it was very clean and the smell was fresh and crisp! The lady at the counter was friendly, but she needs to learn the hot spots. We asked about restaurants (we ended up eating at AppleBee's since concert was 3hrs and only thing still open) and the location of the venue where the concert was being held and she did not know (found out it was across the street from hotel).
The room was top notch! Very beautiful, nice decor, wood floors that lead into a beautiful carpeted bedroom/sitting area. We had a sky-view room, okay skyline. I'm from Pittsburgh, so we have a very beautiful skyline! The bed was decked out in all white nice fluffy pillows (very nice mattress, slept like a baby). The sitting area had nice decorated pillows and very comfortable. The room and bathroom was very clean, a big plus for me! Had a mini fridge and coffee maker (Starbucks coffee and tea) hidden inside the TV stand. A nice 45 inch flat screen TV with cable. Free wifi! Complimentary bottles of water. Nice fresh towels. Like all hotels free small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. I loved the decor of the shower stall wall, very old fashion with a modern edge. The sliding bathroom door add a nice high expensive touch. Iron and Ironing board.
The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel is the valet parking. Like I said it's $30 for overnight parking. They tell you to call ahead of time if you need your car, so after the concert we went to get the car, so we could get dinner. We had to wait about 35 minutes for our car. It was at 11:30pm, so just made it by 20 minutes. On the day we left we called before leaving our room to give them our "car number" and they told us 15 minutes. We called at 2pm went down around 2:15 and we had reservations for brunch and had to get there before 3pm and the place was only 10 minutes away. We get downstairs and had to wait for our car. They have no kind of system in place they just call out numbers. If I never went back to the valet desk we would still be standing there waiting to for our car. I said to him politely "Sir we called down at 2pm and they said 15 minutes and it's now 2:45." He told them to get our car it took another 10 minutes for them to call our number, so we missed brunch.
I would suggest that they get a system in place. There was a lot of people very angry! There's people that needed to make flights. I overheard a few people say they would never stay at the Westin again because of the parking situation. My fiance and I said amazing hotel, but horrible parking, so we would never stay there again as well.
